Avengers Doomsday's First Trailer Hits Right Before Marvel's Comic-Con Hall H Takeover
Marvel dropped the first public trailer for Avengers Doomsday on Monday, timed perfectly ahead of the studio's Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con this Saturday. Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom takes center stage, squaring off against a combined roster that pulls in the Fantastic Four and the original X-Men, and the footage confirms Chris Evans is back as Steve Rogers for the first time since Endgame. Marvel kept its official Hall H description vague, only teasing special guests from across the MCU, but after two years of buildup since RDJ first revealed his Doom casting on that same stage, nobody is expecting a quiet panel. The film lands December 18 and this is the moment the marketing machine finally shifted into high gear.
Spider-Man Brand New Day Final Trailer Puts Peter Against the Hulk
The last trailer before release dropped this week, and it is the most action-heavy look at Brand New Day yet. It recaps where Peter stands after No Way Home wiped him from his friends' memories, then pivots hard into a brutal confrontation with Mark Ruffalo's Hulk, including a shot of Bruce Banner dragging Spidey down the side of a building. James Gunn's DC Studios locked in Jimmy Tatro to play Gorilla Grodd in DC Crime, the Jimmy Olsen led Superman spinoff heading to HBO Max. It is Tatro's first comic book role and only Grodd's second live-action appearance after his run on The CW's The Flash, and with genius level intellect and psychic powers in his toolkit, he is shaping up as a major antagonist for the show rather than a cameo villain. The casting news lands the same week reports are swirling about whether Gunn and Peter Safran even stick around DC Studios past their current contracts, with names like Snyder, Affleck, and McQuarrie already floated as potential replacements. For now the DCU keeps expanding its bench, Grodd included, while the leadership question hangs over everything.
Star Wars Zero Company Reveals Its Comic-Con Cast Ahead of August Launch
Lucasfilm used Comic-Con weekend to unveil the voice cast behind Star Wars Zero Company, the Clone Wars era tactics game landing August 27 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Matt Lanter is back voicing Anakin Skywalker, joined by Clone Wars and Bad Batch veteran Dee Bradley Baker, with the story following former Republic officer Hawks pulling together a crew of unconventional allies to hunt down a dangerous Separatist aligned cult leader. Cast and creative leads took the stage on Comic-Con's Friday to walk through the game's cinematic narrative and tactical combat systems. It is a smaller announcement than Avengers Doomsday or Brand New Day, but for Clone Wars fans this is exactly the kind of in-canon deep cut that keeps the era alive between shows.
