The Elegoo Mars 5 Ultra packs a 7-inch 9K monochrome LCD into a compact resin printer body, hitting 18-micron XY resolution at up to 150mm/h print speed. For miniature painters, that resolution level means individual scale textures, chainmail links, and facial detail come out of the plate already sharp enough to paint without extensive cleanup. Army Painter Speedpaint Markers: Contrast Paint You Draw On
Army Painter just launched Speedpaint Markers, which put their Speedpaint 2.0 contrast formula into a brush-tip marker body. The pitch is control: instead of loading a brush and watching contrast paint wick into areas you did not intend, you draw directly onto the model and the paint self-shades into recesses from the tip. The Starter Set includes 9 highly saturated colors plus one metallic, each 6mL. It runs $63.71 on Amazon for the full starter. The Introductory 3-pack with red, green, and yellow is also on Amazon at a lower entry price if you want to test before committing to the full set. This format is genuinely useful for textured surfaces like bark, stone, chainmail, or anything where a brush is hard to control without flooding adjacent areas.

Anycubic Kobra 3 V2 Combo: 8-Color FDM with Active Filament Drying at $329
Anycubic refreshed the Kobra 3 with the V2 Combo, and the standout addition is active filament drying built into the multi-material unit. It heats and circulates air through the filament chambers while the printer runs, keeping moisture out and keeping color saturation consistent across long prints. Print speed goes up to 600mm/s, auto-leveling uses LeviQ 3.0 for hands-off first layers, and the build area is 250x250x260mm.
